AFRAC was created to represent the market interests of manufacturers, software houses and distribution channels, and annually organizes AUTOCOM, the Latin America’s most important retail automation event.
Today, our association comprises manufacturers of automation equipment and peripheral devices, software houses, distributors, resellers, paper suppliers, manufacturers of AIDC/RFID equipment, mobility devices, payment systems, startups, digital certificate providers and retailers.
Supported and managed by associated companies, AFRAC’s first manager was Enrico Castellano from 1987 to 1989. Castellano was reelected for two additional terms, followed by Ricardo Queiróz, Mário Hamada Takahashi and Letícia A.S. Blotta. Other four people chaired AFRAC for one or two terms between 1998 and 2016,: Múcio Álvaro Doria, Wolney E. G. Betiol, Antônio Di Gianni and Araquen Pagotto. The Board of Directors is currently chaired by Zenon Leite Neto.
